Prohibited services
Most services are allowed on Gigförmedlingen. But we don't permit services that are illegal, unethical, or that risk someone's safety.
Generally prohibited
- Illegal services. Anything that violates Swedish law.
- Weapon-related services. Sale, modification, or training around weapons.
- Sexual services. Including cam modelling, escort, or similar.
- Discriminatory services. Offers that exclude someone based on ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or similar.
- Fraudulent services. Including academic cheating, fake reviews, or similar.
Prohibited without proper authorisation
Some services are only allowed if the provider has the proper education, license, or permit:
- Healthcare and dental care. May only be performed by licensed personnel.
- Legal advice. May only be provided by lawyers or solicitors with proper authorisation.
- Electrical and plumbing work requiring authorisation. Some work may only be performed by certified tradespeople.
- Paid passenger transport. Requires a taxi or bus license.
- Education requiring teaching credentials. For example teaching in primary or secondary school.
Restricted but allowed
These categories are allowed but reviewed extra carefully:
- Childcare. Those who offer should be able to provide a criminal record extract if the customer asks.
- Home care for the elderly and persons with disabilities. Be transparent about your experience.
- Animal handling. Be transparent about your experience and any certifications.
What happens if someone offers prohibited services?
- The listing is removed immediately
- The user may be temporarily or permanently suspended
- Serious cases are reported to the police
