Voluntary / Goodwill

Voluntary is the pricing model where you offer your service completely free. This is for you if you want to help others without financial compensation - neighbours, family, single parents, new arrivals, pensioners, or anyone who needs a helping hand.

Who uses Voluntary?

• Private individuals who want to help their neighbour or family
• Pensioners with time to give
• Students who want to build community engagement
• Those who want to help vulnerable groups without making it a profession

How does it work?

You post a listing with a price of SEK 0 and describe what you can help with and who you most want to help. The booker pays SEK 0 for the service.

What fees apply?

For voluntary work, Gigförmedlingen charges no fees from you. The booker pays SEK 0.

Safety and responsibility

In the first version, customers and providers contact each other directly and agree on the task themselves. Use common sense - meet in a public place the first time if it's a new arrangement, tell someone where you're going, and stop if something feels wrong. Stronger verification, platform payments, and dispute handling are coming in a later version.

What is allowed as voluntary work?

Most things. But we have a few limits: professional healthcare, legal advice, and safety-critical services (electricity, plumbing, and similar) should not be offered as purely voluntary work by someone who is not qualified. See our prohibited services for details.
