1. About these terms
These Terms for Minors apply to users under the age of 18 ("Minors") who use the Gigförmedlingen platform ("the Platform"), and to the parents and guardians who supervise their use. They apply alongside the Terms of Service. Where these terms and the Terms of Service conflict, these terms apply for Minors.
These terms reflect Sweden's legal framework on minors' contractual capacity and digital safety, including the Parental Code (Föräldrabalken) provisions on minor capacity and the EU-wide GDPR rules on processing children's personal data.
2. Minimum age
The minimum age to create an Account on the Platform is 13. Children under 13 may not create an Account or use the Platform's account features.
3. Account use by Minors aged 13 to 17
Minors aged 13 to 17 may use the Platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By allowing a Minor to create or use an Account, the parent or guardian:
- consents to the Minor's use of the Platform under these terms
- accepts responsibility for the Minor's compliance with these terms
- agrees to supervise the Minor's activity, including communications with other users
- agrees to the Platform's Privacy Policy with respect to processing the Minor's personal data
The parent or guardian must remain reachable through the contact details provided on the Account.
4. What Minors can do on the Platform
Subject to guardian supervision, Minors aged 13 to 17 may:
- browse the Platform
- post service requests for services suitable for the Minor's age and circumstances
- contact Providers in connection with permitted requests
- use messaging features for purposes related to permitted requests
Subject to guardian-proxy verification (see section 5), Minors aged 16 and 17 may also publish service Listings for services they are legally entitled to perform. Minors under 16 may not publish service Listings.
Some Platform features are not available to Minors regardless of age, including:
- services categories that are inappropriate for Minors
- transactions that legally require an adult signature
- features that activate in a later version where minor-specific protections have not yet been defined
5. Guardian-proxy verification for Minor Providers
Minors aged 16 and 17 who wish to publish service Listings must complete guardian-proxy verification before any Listing is made public. This involves:
- the parent or guardian confirming consent to the Minor offering services on the Platform
- the parent or guardian providing contact information for direct communication
- the parent or guardian acknowledging joint responsibility for the services the Minor offers and for any obligations arising
A Minor's published Listing must clearly indicate that the Provider is a Minor and that a guardian is reachable for supervision and communication.
The Platform may suspend or remove a Minor's Listings if guardian-proxy verification lapses or if guardian contact becomes unreachable.
6. Communication safety
Minors must not share personal information beyond what is necessary for the service request. The Platform's messaging features should be used in preference to private communication channels until trust is established with the Provider, and even then, with guardian awareness.
Minors must not arrange in-person meetings without guardian knowledge and consent. For services that involve in-person delivery, a guardian or other trusted adult should be present or otherwise actively involved.
If a Minor encounters inappropriate, threatening, or unsafe communication, the Minor or the guardian should:
- stop responding to the user in question
- report the user through the Platform's report flow
- contact us via the contact page for follow-up
- contact local authorities if there is a risk of harm
7. Prohibited services for Minors
In addition to the Terms of Service section 6 (Prohibited content and conduct), Minors must not request, offer, or facilitate:
- services involving alcohol, tobacco, or other age-restricted goods or activities
- services in environments not appropriate for the Minor's age
- services that require professional licensing the Minor cannot legally hold
- services that involve unsupervised access to other Minors except in clearly defined contexts approved by guardians on both sides
- any service prohibited under Swedish law for Minors of the relevant age
8. Privacy and personal data of Minors
The Privacy Policy applies to personal data of Minors. In addition:
- We process Minors' personal data with awareness of their reduced capacity to consent under GDPR Article 8 and corresponding Swedish rules. Where consent is the legal basis for processing, the parent or guardian gives or withholds consent on the Minor's behalf where required by law.
- We do not use Minors' data for marketing communications other than service-related notifications agreed by the guardian.
- Parents and guardians have the rights set out in section 9 of the Privacy Policy on behalf of the Minor, in addition to any rights the Minor exercises directly under their age-appropriate capacity.
9. Suspension and removal
The Platform may suspend or remove a Minor's Account, Listings, or messaging access if:
- the Account is found to belong to a child under 13
- guardian-proxy verification lapses for a Minor Provider
- the Minor or the Account engages in conduct that violates these terms or the Terms of Service
- there is reasonable concern about the Minor's safety on the Platform
A guardian may close the Minor's Account at any time through the account settings or by contacting us via the contact page.
10. Liability
Liability is set out in the Terms of Service section 11 and applies to Minors and their guardians on the same terms as adult users, subject to mandatory rules under Swedish law that further protect Minors.
A guardian who consents to a Minor's use of the Platform accepts shared responsibility for the Minor's compliance with these terms and for any obligations arising from the Minor's use, to the extent permitted by Swedish law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms for Minors from time to time. When we make material changes, we give reasonable notice through the Platform, by email to the address associated with the Account, or both. Where the change affects a Minor's capacity or rights on the Platform, we make reasonable effort to notify the guardian directly through the Account contact information.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms for Minors, or to report a safety concern, can be sent via the contact page.
The Platform's data controller is identified in the Privacy Policy. Controller information will be published before public launch.
